Come Join us for a signing and discussion with Jennifer Lynn Barnes, author of The Inheritance Games series. The discussion will be lead by Author Rose Brock, editor of the upcoming anthology Hope Wins: Inspiring Stories for Young Readers.
Jennifer Lynn Barnes (who mostly goes by Jen) is the author of more than a dozen critically acclaimed young adult novels. She has advanced degrees in psychology, psychiatry, and cognitive science, including graduate degrees from Cambridge University, where she was a Fulbright Scholar, and Yale University, where she received her Ph.D. in 2012. Jen wrote her first published novel when she was nineteen-years-old and sold her first five books while still in college. In additional to writing YA novels, Jen has also written original pilot scripts for television networks like USA and MTV, and she is one of the world's leading experts on the psychology of fandom and the cognitive science of fiction and the imagination more broadly. Jen is an Associate Professor at the University of Oklahoma, where she holds a dual appointment in Psychology and Professional Writing.
Rose Brock is a professor and educator at Sam Houston State University who has dedicated her career to turning young people into book lovers. In addition to her career as a librarian and educator, Dr. Brock is the co-founder of NTTBF, the North Texas Teen Book Festival, the largest library run book festival for young people in the country. Dr. Brock was awarded the Siddie Joe Johnson Award for Outstanding Service to Youth by the Texas Library Association. She is the editor of Hope Wins: A Collection of Inspiring Stories for Young Readers, Hope Nation: Young Adult Authors Share Personal Moments of Inspiration, and author of Young Adult Literature in Action: A Librarian's Guide. Masking is not required to attend this event, but is encouraged. Jennifer Lynn Barnes will be happy to take pictures with any guest. She will also personalize books for fans. She will sign pre-orders if you are unable to attend.
