Please come join us at Barnes and Noble Frisco as we host Jonny Garza Villa!
Jonny Garza Villa is a product of the Great State of Texas, born and raised near and along the Gulf Coast and currently lives in San Antonio.
They are an author of contemporary young adult novels inspired by their own Tejane & Chicane and queer identities including their debut novel Fifteen Hundred Miles from the Sun, a Pura Belpré Honor Book, a Finalist for the Texas Institute of Letters' Jean Flynn Award for Best Young Adult Book, and a Kirkus Best YA Fiction of 2021 selection, and Ander & Santi Were Here, expected early 2023. They are a member of Las Musas, a collective of traditionally published Latina authors and Latine authors of marginalized genders writing children's and young adult literature and has been a mentor with the Write Team Mentorship Program. They have participated in numerous festivals including the Latinx KidLit Book Festival, Corpus Christi's Bookfest By The Bay, the San Antonio Book Fest, Pride Book Fest, Bronx Book Fest, Border Book Bash, and YALLfest.
Special Instructions
- To attend this event, you will need to reserve and purchase a copy of Ander and Santi Where Here from the Frisco Location. Call (972-688-2820) or stop by in store between now and Monday 5/1 to reserve your copy of Silver in the Bones, on sale for purchase Tuesday 5/2 at 10am. You will receive your signing line wristband at time of purchase. Both signing line wristband and your purchased copy of the book are needed to attend the event.
- On Sunday May 7th (the day of the event), there will be an event check-in table located at the upstairs mall entrance, where you will receive an additional wristband if you are also interested in participating in the book discussion plus Q&A. Seating for the discussion will be limited to the first 100 people due to space considerations. It is not required that you have this additional wristband to be in the signing line, it is strictly for the discussion.
- Seating for the discussion will stop at 1:50pm, and all guests will need to be in place, or risk their seat going to others.
