Zoe Bossiere

About this Event

Join us for a very special author event! Editor, writer, and teacher Zoe Bossiere's forthcoming book, Cactus Country: A Boyhood Memoir, has been named a most anticipated book of 2024 by Electric Literature, Them, and The Rumpus. This fantastic book traces the intersections of genderfluidity, brutal masculinity, and class in the American Southwest. A wonderful coming-of-age story and a moving lesson on how to find your place in a country and world insistent upon the tradition of strict binaries.

There will be a discussion, moderated by critic, essayist, poet, performer, and educator Raquel Gutierrez. Gutierrez's first book, Brown Neon, was named as one of the best books of 2022 by The New Yorker. The discussion will be followed by a Q and A and then a signing.
