An adventure that stretches from Paris to New York, through the 1893 Chicago World's Fair to the Old West. Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison are in a race to be the first to light an entire city and bring new life to the coming century. They are pursued by a mysterious gunslinger who will chase them from Chicago to Kansas City, across the Kansas plains and finally lead to the mountains of Colorado.The life of twentieth century technology, invention and inspiration hangs on these two men, an intrepid muckraker named Ida Tarbell, and a dangerous figure who believes their electricity will kill the night.
