After serving six years as an active duty US Army officer in both Afghanistan and Iraq, JT Blatty had a chance encounter that brought her to Ukraine in 2018. Over five years, JT embedded on the front lines with a tribe of Donbas volunteer soldiers and was compelled to stay with them in Ukraine even as a new war was beginning.
