About this Event
Barnes & Noble Upper West Side Presents:
Harlem Writers United - Inside a Live Writing Critique Session
A behind-the-scenes look at how stories are shaped before publication
About This Event
Please join us here at Barnes & Noble Upper West Side on Saturday, March 28th from 11:00AM - 12:30PM as we welcome Harlem Writers United for Inside a Live Writing Critique Session, a behind-the-scenes look at the collaborative process that helps writers shape their stories for publication.
In this live event, members of Harlem Writers United will workshop a selection of short excerpts, shining a spotlight on the critique process. Attendees will hear real-time reactions and feedback to works in progress across a range of genres, gaining insight into how writers leverage community to revise and refine their stories. While the audience will observe the critique, there will be time at the end of the program for Q&A, allowing attendees to learn more about the workshop process and the role critique plays in developing strong, publishable work.
Whether you are a reader curious about how books are made or a writer interested in the revision process, this event offers a rare glimpse into the conversations that happen long before a story reaches our bookstore shelves.
Harlem Writers United (HWU) believes everyone has a story. Whether fantastical and pulled from your imagination - or spurred from your own history - they believe in your potential to tell your tale. HWU is a collective of writers from industry-underrepresented backgrounds across many lines of identity, who believe an inclusive and supportive environment where reading as learning, peer knowledge sharing, and focused critique are centered, we build our capacity to grow within our craft and forge pathways to publication.
