Local mystery/thriller author Kevin Bouyer will join us at Barnes & Noble Seven Corners for an informal meet-and-greet and book signing for his latest book, Unconscious Impulses.  Bouyer’s books will be available for purchase in-store.

About the Book

When Desiree and her 11-year-old daughter, Maya, move into a sleek new high-rise apartment in Charlotte, North Carolina, they are hoping for a fresh start. Desiree's boyfriend, Jayden, plans to spend his weekends helping them unpack and settle in. However, after the very first night, he realizes something is seriously wrong.

He catches Desiree sleepwalking in unsettling ways-she acts out her dreams, sometimes violently, and scrawls the same mysterious number combination on the walls and mirrors of the apartment. But when she wakes up, she has no memory of what happened.

Things become even stranger when Maya begins wearing an heirloom necklace, gifted by her late grandmother, that seems to alter her behavior and grant her chilling glimpses of the future.

As Desiree's sleepwalking episodes escalate and her unconscious actions grow more unpredictable, Jayden finds himself drawn into a baffling mystery, and the only clue he has to help solve it lies in the vague descriptions from a recurring dream that Desiree continues to experience. About the Author

Kevin Bouyer grew up in Queens, New York, and from a very young age, his passion for creativity was unmistakable. Whether it was drawing, painting, or creating comic books, there were no limits to where his imaginative mind would take him. As he transitioned into adulthood, his creative spark remained, which prompted him to push forward with his author journey.

Driven by a simple desire to tell a story and transport readers on a fictional journey, he published his debut mystery novel, Relocation Disclosure, in April 2023, fulfilling his dream of becoming a published author. This was followed by his second mystery novel, Voluntary Silence, which was released in October 2024, and his latest book, Unconscious Impulses, released in November 2025.

Kevin lives in Clarksburg, Maryland, with his wife. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, working out at the gym, and spending quality moments with his family.
